Hotel Borges Chiado

Location & Price Point:

Located in an ideal spot is Hotel Borges Chiado. It is in the Chiado neighborhood which is in the historic center of Lisbon. Surrounded by lively night life, shopping, and restaurants. This is a great location walkable to everything you need. All you have to do is walk out of your hotel and you’re surrounded by all the action. We booked through Expedia for $158/night.

Luxury Feel:

This hotel has the old luxurious feel. When booking our trip to Portugal my number one requirement was that we had a hotel with a balcony! I’ve seen so many videos and pictures of the balcony rooms and absolutely love them! You know I had to take many pictures looking out on the balcony. The room amenities were pretty basic but nice and clean. It had a nice victorian style including a desk, chaise lounge, and comfortable linens. We had traveled for 12 hours so I slept like a baby in this hotel.

Food/Dining:

This hotel is smack dap between two amazing bakery/cafes! Cafe a Brasileria is famous in Lisbon for being one of the most visited and photographed cafes in Lisbon. Built in 1905 the architecture in the cafe is breathtaking. Definitely go in and try there coffee along with a pastry or dessert! On the left is Pastelaria Benard. Founded in 1868, Pastelaria Benard began as a famous and aristocratic tea house. Now they are known as one of the most historic cafes. They have pastry services as well as acting like a restaurant. A favorite here is the croissant, which is a secret recipe .

Unique Experience:

This hotel features a really cool lounge area that features a gym as well. The lounge is the perfect spot to get some work done or bring some food and relax! I believe they serve drinks back here some nights, the night we had stayed they had not been. The gym was small but had some of the basic necessities. I have been trying to find hotels that have gyms so I can keep up with my workout routine while traveling.
